Your Right to Delete Your Account

At HeartAngle, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time. This policy explains the account deletion process, what data is deleted, what is retained, and the timeline for complete removal.

Please read this policy carefully before proceeding with account deletion, as this action is permanent and cannot be undone.

1. How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Through Website

  • Visit our website and log into your account
  • Click on your profile picture
  • Select "Settings" from the dropdown
  • Navigate to "Privacy & Security"
  • Click "Delete Account"
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm deletion

Option 2: Request via Email

If you cannot access your account or prefer email:

Send an email to: contact@heartangle.com

Include the following information:

  • Your registered email address
  • Your account profile name
  • Phone number associated with the account
  • Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  • A brief reason for deletion (optional)

We'll verify your identity and process the request within 3-5 business days.

2. What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Once deleted, you cannot recover your account, matches, messages, or any other data.

Immediate Effects:

  • Your profile will be immediately hidden from all users
  • You will be logged out of all devices
  • You will no longer appear in search results or recommendations
  • Your matches will no longer be able to contact you
  • All active chats and conversations will be terminated
  • You will lose access to premium features immediately

Within 30 Days:

During this period, we begin the process of permanently removing your data from our active systems. However, your account enters a "deactivated" state where recovery is still technically possible if you contact us urgently.

After 30 Days:

Complete deletion is finalized. Your account and data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered under any circumstances.

3. Data That Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed:

  • Profile Data: Name, age, gender, bio, profile photos, uploaded media, location, preferences, interests, hobbies, and verification status.
  • Activity Data: Swipe history, match history, all messages and conversations, likes given and received, profile views, visitor history, search history, and filters used.
  • Account Information: Email address, phone number, login credentials, connected social media accounts, device information, and app settings.

4. Data That May Be Retained

For legal, security, or operational reasons, we may retain certain information even after account deletion:

  • Transaction Records (Up to 7 Years): Payment history, invoices, subscription purchase records, refund and billing dispute records (Required by Indian tax laws and financial regulations).
  • Safety and Legal Records (Up to 90 Days or Longer): Records of violations, bans, reports you filed or were filed against you, safety incident logs, data related to ongoing legal proceedings.
  • Anonymized Data (Indefinitely): Aggregated statistics and analytics, de-identified usage patterns, anonymized demographic data. This data cannot be linked back to you personally.
  • Messages in Others' Accounts: Messages you sent to other users will remain visible in their chat history. However, your profile information will show as "Deleted User" and your photos will be removed.

5. Subscription and Payment Considerations

Important: Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel your subscription or stop recurring payments.

  • Cancel subscriptions first: Go to subscription settings and cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account.
  • No refunds: Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund for unused subscription time.
  • Premium features lost: Any remaining premium features or credits will be forfeited.
  • Check your app store: If you subscribed through Google Play or Apple App Store, cancel there as well to prevent future charges.
